Lueck scores winning run in 10th, Lexington beats Asheville 5-4 in walk-off finish
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Rubendy Jaquez hit a sacrifice fly and drove in Jackson Lueck with the winning run in the 10th inning, as the Lexington Legends defeated the Asheville Tourists 5-4 on Friday.
Lueck scored the game-winning run after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt.
Coco Montes and Kyle Datres hit solo home runs in the second and fifth innings to give the Tourists a 2-1 lead. The Legends came back to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning when Jeison Guzman hit a three-run home run.
Asheville tied the game 4-4 in the seventh when Daniel Montano scored on an error.
Lexington starter Austin Cox struck out four while allowing four runs and eight hits over six innings. Austin Lambright (2-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Alexander Martinez (0-2) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
Juan Carlos Negret homered and singled, scoring two runs in the win.
For the Tourists, Datres was a double short of the cycle, driving in two runs. Montes homered and singled, scoring two runs.
