Family & Children's Agency needs volunteers to facilitate weekly enrichment classes for homeless adults at its drop-in center in South Norwalk. Possible options include: beading; photography; crafts; flower arranging; music; and more. Classes may be held weekdays, except Thursdays, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a weekly or biweekly basis. If interested, contact Kim Kristof, volunteer coordinator, at 203-523-5715.
The Connecticut Hospice is in need of volunteers to provide care and support to patients and their families (weekdays, evenings or weekends) in an administrative capacity or by offering direct care as a friendly visitor, bereavement care, help in the arts or meet transportation needs. The American Cancer Society needs Road to Recovery volunteers 18 years or older with a car, good driving record and daytime availability to drive cancer patients to and from medical treatment facilities. Keep Norwalk Beautiful needs volunteers for their annual city wide clean-up on April 24. After a snowy winter, garbage and debris have accumulated everywhere. Malta House of Good Counsel, 5 Prowitt St., Norwalk, home to homeless, pregnant women and their newborns ,is in need of women to volunteer for babysitting, tutoring or mother-mentoring weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Call 203-857-0088.
