Questioning Himes'

priorities

To the Editor:

The United States House of Representatives has many trivial issues to deal with on a daily basis. Many of them are insignificant items like jobs, "ObamaCare," deficits of mammoth proportion, Cap & Trade, the war on terror (or is that an Overseas Contingency Operation), immigration -- the trivial pursuits list goes on and on.

In spite of this, I'm grateful that our Congressman, James Himes, found the time to make me a part of his mass e-mail advising constituents that the nation is switching on Sunday to Daylight Savings Time. In Himes' words: "[d]on't forget to `spring forward this Sunday!'" Without that e-mail, my life might have been imperiled. Thanks, Jim! Don't know how Connecticut would survive without you.
