Fresh Air Fund is fun
Looking for an Amazing Summer Experience? Open your home to a Fresh Air Fund child!
Our family just finished hosting an energetic, highly spirited, happy 8-year old boy named Jaheim for two weeks as part of the Fresh Air Fund program and it was the highlight of our summer.
We hung around town, swam every day, experienced lots of fun events and activities, and became closer as a family.
Our children learned to share their toys, their rooms, their dog, and their parents' attention and were rewarded with unconditional love from their new "summer brother" and amazing memories that will last a lifetime.

We can't wait for Jaheim to return next year and plan to keep in touch with him during the school year.
For those unfamiliar with this not-for-profit agency, the Fresh Air Fund provides free summer vacations to small-town communities across 13 Northeastern states from Virginia to Maine and Canada for thousands of New York City children each summer.
Our Fresh Air Fund liaison, Darienite Yvette Eenkema van Dijk, is to be commended for her tireless efforts -- from finding committed hosts, to matching children to families, to riding the bus to and from the city, and to making sure everyone is having fun.
There are never enough host families to accommodate all the children who want to participate and we'd love to see the program grow in Darien.
Please consider opening your home next summer.
