Waveny hosts community programs
Baier will discuss how to eliminate clutter and lose weight -- a topic aimed at busy people. Corrado will speak of the importance of healthy eating habits and basic nutrition to help lose weight and keep it off. Baier and Corrado will also discuss strategies for success and quick wins in losing weight and staying organized.
The following week, on Thursday, June 17, at 4 p.m., Waveny will partner with the Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to host Dr. Christopher van Dyck, who will speak about the latest medical research and clinical trials for individuals at risk for Alzheimer's disease.
His program focuses specifically on a new study of amyloid therapy, which helps indicate early evidence for preclinical Alzheimer's disease, and will possibly lead to breakthroughs in other therapies to cure or prevent Alzheimer's. This therapy allows doctors and researchers understand how and why amyloid proteins disable the functioning of astrocytes, which protect, repair, and transfer energy to neurons. Alzheimer's disease affects more than 26 million people worldwide.
