Wallet, phone, stolen from purse at diner
A 39-year-old Norwalk woman reported to police around 1:39 p.m. June 9 that her wallet was stolen at the New Canaan Diner on Forest Street.
According to the report, the woman told officers she had her purse on a coatrack between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. and when she went to retrieve her purse, it was missing.
The purse was then found in the bathroom of the diner, without the wallet, including $100 in cash, and an HTC MetroPCS cell phone, valued at $110, according to police.
At around 4:30 p.m., the wallet was found in the area of Chase Bank on East Avenue by a passerby, police said. The cash had been removed.
