Wallet and GPS stolen from YMCA parking lot
A 17-year-old Darien male reported a larceny from his vehicle at New Canaan YMCA Oct. 11 at 2:05 p.m.
The victim did not notice anything was missing after he left his car unlocked at the YMCA parking lot at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 10. Upon returning home, the bank notified the victim's parents about suspicious activity on their son's credit card.
The victim then realized his wallet and Garmin Nuvi GPS was missing from the center console, police said. The wallet contained a license in addition to his credit card and was valued at $30 while the GPS was valued at $200. Police said the fraudulent charges on the card were made in Norwalk and totaled approximately $436.
