Circle of Care in Wilton assists families of children with cancer. Volunteers are needed to assist with mailings, post office runs, administrative tasks and some work from home. Call 203-663-6893 or visit www.theCirleofCare.org

The George Washington Carver Center, Norwalk, needs volunteers to help kids in kindergarten through 12th grade with homework after school. Subjects include anything from spelling homework to math anytime between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, call 203-838-4305.

The RSVP Medical Transportation Program needs a volunteer dispatcher to schedule drivers (two to four hours once per week) to transport seniors to medical appointments. Calls can be made from a volunteer's home on a designated line. Basic computer skills are needed. Additional volunteer drivers are needed as well. Family & Children's Agency needs adults and high school students (16 or older) for one afternoon a week in its after-school program to help Norwalk middle school students. No teaching experience required. FCA also needs friendship mentors for children 6 to 14 for three hours per week (requires one-year commitment). The Courage to Speak Foundation is a nationally recognized nonprofit that is dedicated to saving lives by empowering youth to be drug free and encouraging parents to communicate effectively with their children. The organization needs a part-time volunteer general ledger bookkeeper three to four hours a week (flexible schedule). Proficiency in Quickbooks is a must and a nonprofit background is a plus.
