Untimely death being investigated in New Canaan

NEW CANAAN — Police are investigating the untimely death of an individual found pinned underneath a car on South Bald Hill Road in the northeast part of town.
First responders were dispatched to 154 South Bald Hill Road at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday on a report of an unresponsive person pinned underneath a vehicle. On scene, emergency officials determined the victim had died. Officials are unsure how long the individual was underneath the vehicle. Police have not identified the victim.
As of 4:30 p.m. two police cars were still stationed at the scene and yellow tape, some feet up from the driveway, enclosed the scene. From the road, a gray car could be seen within the perimeter of the yellow tape.
A police officer at the scene said he was not authorized to disclose any further information regarding the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
According to town tax assessor records the house was purchased by Karl and Misty Hofer in 2017.
