Unexpected snow might sound ridiculous given the last month in New Canaan, but Tuesday's snowfall was a bit of a surprise. There have been plenty of reports forecasting snow for Wednesday, but the most recent precipitation was not on everyone's radar.
As of noon, the snow has tapered off but the town still accumulated a little more than 3 inches of powder. Schools opened on a 90-minute delay and the plows were busy yet again. The good news is that while there is more snow expected to come in tomorrow, temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing point for the first time in days. Metro-North also reported issues with equipment shortages earlier today. They cautioned commuters to expect delays and more crowded trains.
