An 85-year-old Sleepy Hollow Road resident reported Nov. 12 the theft of 20 place settings.

New Canaan police said the resident last saw the Towle King Richard-style place settings in September, but suspected them missing Nov. 9. He told police that he searched his house before reporting the larceny.

No work by contractors had been done recently on the house and there were no signs of forced entry, police said.

The place settings, which have no estimated value, include a knife, fork, spoon, salad fork, butter knife and soup spoon, according to the report.
