There will be a free H1N1 vaccination clinic open to all from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 8 at Lapham Community Center. Organized by the New Canaan Health Department, the clinic is scheduled for the start of a month that Medical Director David Reed said may mark the onset of a resurgence of the virus, commonly know as swine flu.

"It's not too late to get vaccinated," Reed said. "As in all pandemics, they almost always have three waves. ... We expect it to come back, and we want to give people the opportunity to get vaccinated."

Reed projects that a wave of H1N1 will occur in February or March, following a second wave last autumn and an initial wave last spring.

"Just because it's not around now doesn't mean it's gone," Reed said. "If you haven't already, this is the time to get vaccinated."

The clinic will be open to all and will not be limited to New Canaan residents.
