Toddlertime Nursery School has select spaces available for the 2011-2012 school year. There are currently openings in the afternoon 2s, in the five day 3s and in the five day 5s program.

The 5s program is intended for children who have already completed a 4s program and are eligible for kindergarten (turning five by Dec. 31) but prefer an extra year of preschool.

The 5s program offers a small, personalized classroom with a low student to teacher ratio.

The children in the 5s program work on developing reading, writing and math skills, perform science experiments and investigate the many centers that make-up their classroom.

"We use a developmentally appropriate curriculum and materials to enhance the natural enthusiasm children have about learning," said Toddlertime director Carolyn Williams. "As children go through the Toddlertime program, they will have ample time to play and discover but the curriculum is specifically designed to start the children on an academic plan by the 4s class.

The Toddlertime program fosters children's physical, social, emotional, language development and general learning processes. Children are given opportunities to make choices and decisions, create, interact, play, communicate, and discover."

Toddlertime started the day after Labor Day and runs until June 15 with a total of 175 days of school. Toddlertime also offers an exciting enrichment program every day from noon to 2 p.m. The 2011-2012 schedules include gym, art, theatre, Spanish, science and cooking.
