NEW CANAAN — A 56-year-old New Canaan man was charged after leaving threatening notes around the town’s Starbucks.
Employees at the Park Street coffee shop contacted police Oct. 17 around 10 a.m. after finding three handwritten notes at the condiment station while cleaning the store. The notes had messages like “seeking revenge on this town,” “I hate 90 percent of you” and “I’ll haunt/stalk all of you,” among other threatening and concerning thoughts.
Police had previously had contact with Glen Dunbar, of Lakeview Avenue, that made them believe he was a suspect. Officers interviewed the New Canaan man and he admitted to writing and leaving the notes. He was issued a misdemeanor summons for second-degree breach of peace and was released on a promise to appear in court Oct. 30.
