Teen charged with improper registration
A 17-year-old male from Milford was stopped for registration and marijuana issues on Ponus Ridge Road Oct. 1 at 8:09 p.m.
An officer stopped the driver after he did not stop at a stop sign on Hawks Hill Road. After running his registration, police realized the registration did not match the vehicle or license plate.
Police dog Zira also detected an odor of marijuana from the vehicle and police found a container of marijuana in a duffle bag near the front passenger door, police said. Since it was less than half an ounce of marijuana, police issued the youth a infraction. However, he was issued a misdemeanor summons for the improper use of registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and running a stop sign.
