New Canaan police released a suspicious person report after a man driving a blue minivan attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl into his vehicle Monday evening, according to police.

Police said the girl was walking her dog at about 5:20 p.m. on Chichester Road at Greenly Road when a blue minivan stopped near her and the operator instructed her to get inside the car. When the girl refused, the man repeated that she must get in the car or she will be in trouble, police said. The girl then ran west on Greenly Road toward Ponus Ridge Road, police said. While running, she saw the minivan pass by her and continue east onto Greenly Road, police said. The minivan has New York State registration plates, and the girl believes the first three letters of the plate were "EHD," police said. The minivan might be a Honda, police said.

Police said the operator appears to be a light-skinned Hispanic male in his 50s with dark hair and gray highlights. A white male in his 70s and wearing a beanie on his head was sitting in the front passenger seat during the incident, police said. Neither man exited the vehicle, police said.
