Stringfellow to play New Canaan show
Ken Stringfellow, formerly of Big Star, the Posies and long-time member of R.E.M.’s recording and touring band will play a local show with El Paso,Texas-based singer-songwriter Holly Munoz in New Canaan on Saturday, Oct. 17.
A limited number of premium more expensive tickets costing $40 and $100 are still available for the show which will be at the Avalon Clubhouse, according to a press announcement.
Stringfellow spent the early part of his childhood growing up in Darien, attending kindergarten and elementary school at Ox Ridge School.
His father, Stuart Stringfellow, is a New Canaan resident.
The pair is currently touring as the “Ken and Holly Roadshow,” playing songs from a country music-themed concept album they made together called “The Record,” recorded over 10 days at Stringfellow’s studio in Paris, France. The album includes appearances by guest artists including Vicki Peterson of the Bangles, Keren Ann, and Matthew Caws of Nada Surf.
