As part of its commitment to provide value to the community, Stamford First Bank, a division of The Bank of New Canaan, will host a program featuring Big Brothers Big Sisters at the bank's offices at 612 Bedford Street in Stamford on Wednesday, March 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. The seminar will provide information and answer questions about the mentoring program for prospective volunteers and the parents or legal guardians of children living in Fairfield County who would be interested in having their children participate in the program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nonprofit agency that provides an adult mentoring program to children. The organization recruits, carefully screens and trains caring adults to act as mentors and role models. Ongoing research consistently demonstrates that kids matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister improve their performance in school and develop better relationships with family, peers, and authority figures.
