A burglary was reported at the Silk Purse, 118 Main St., shortly before 9 a.m. Nov. 5.

An employee arrived at the store at 8:50 a.m. to find numerous pieces of sterling silver flatware were missing as well as $200 in cash from the register, police said.

The missing flatware could be valued between $5,000 and $10,000, police were told. The store was locked as of 5:30 p.m. the previous day, but there was evidence of forced entry through a broken rear window.
