More than 40 years ago, Flo Adams from the New Canaan Sewing Group wrote to George Stevens, the headmaster of New Canaan Country School, saying that the organization was thrilled to help support the Horizons Student Enrichment Program.

Now, decades later, the New Canaan Sewing Group, with more than 100 women as members, is continuing to support the program, which takes place at the school, and many other local nonprofits in the area, with handcrafts and boutique sales.

The group's annual Spring Boutique will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 4, in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan.

All proceeds benefit local nonprofits, including Horizons.

Crafts, including hand-painted Easter baskets, children's sweaters and doll clothes, will be available for purchase.

Admission is free.
