Jay Dirnberger will address the Senior Men's Club of New Canaan at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church on the development and use of drones.

Dirnberger has more than 35 years experience in the field of institutional and private investment management. Retired in 2011, he is active in several community organizations. He is a mentor to a boy at Staples High School, is on the advisory council to the Westport Historical Society, and is an active member of the Y's Men of Westport/Weston.

He is the treasurer of one of the oldest commemorative military units in the United States called Gold's Dragoons, which dates to 1660. He has been a public member on the state's Judicial Review Council since 2009.

Dirnberger served in the U.S. Army from 1965 through 1970 as an infantry captain. He flew helicopters in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division and was the aide-de-camp to the commanding general of the 18th Airborne Corp at Ft. Bragg.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Buffalo and a master of business administration from New York University. He has been a resident of Westport since November 2008.
