Santa to visit New Canaan YMCA
Updated 6:42 pm, Sunday, November 27, 2011
On Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m., the New Canaan YMCA invites families from the community to kick off the holiday season with its annual "Crafts with Santa" family fun day. The event is free and open to all in the community.
Santa will be on hand to meet with children, and parents are welcome to bring their cameras to capture the moment. Children and their parents, grandparents, friends, and relatives will also be able to create holiday-themed arts and crafts to share with a loved one this holiday season.
"Crafts with Santa is one of our favorite events here at our Y. It's a chance for the families in our community to come together for some classic holiday fun before the busy season is in full swing," said YMCA youth and family director Davie Cedela.
In addition to meeting with Santa and creating crafts, families will also have the opportunity to engage in the giving spirit of the holidays through a donation to Toys For Tots, which will be available at the YMCA during the Crafts with Santa event and in December. Those wishing to make a donation may bring a new, unwrapped toy, which will be given to a child in need.
