Do you have an old, unused bicycle gathering dust in your garage? Help the New Canaan High School SLOBs to recycle your bicycle.

The Service League of Boys at New Canaan High School will be accepting donations of used bicycles, tricycles and scooters at the High School this Saturday, May 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

With the assistance of the Connecticut Bike Project, founded by Bruce Sumberg of Westport, these bicycles will be reconditioned and donated to needy children and adults, who may use them for purposes as diverse as play to commuting to their jobs.

This project is being coordinated by John (NCHS '10) and Dan Sullivan. If anyone needs assistance in getting a bicycle to the high school, call 203-966-3530.

The SLOBs are an organization founded several years ago to encourage boys to participate in community service alongside their parents. Since its inception, the SLOBs have participated in numerous community service programs, and this year will contribute more than several thousand hours of their time to projects ranging from assisting the elderly and special needs children to helping to maintain the grounds at the high school.
