Renowned caricaturist to speak to Sr. Men

Kevin Kallaugher will address the Senior Men's Club of New Canaan in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church Friday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. Kallaugher is the editorial cartoonist for The Economist magazine of London and has been cited as one of the premier caricaturists of the 20th century.
After graduating from Harvard College with honors in 1977, The Economist recruited him to become its first resident cartoonist in its 145-year history. Kallaugher spent the next 10 years working in London as a cartoonist for several publications. He returned to the U.S. in 1988 to join The Baltimore Sun as its editorial cartoonist. His work for the Sun and The Economist has appeared in more than 100 publications worldwide.

Kallaugher has won numerous awards for his work, which has been exhibited at the Tate Gallery in London and the Library of Congress in Washington. He is a past president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and Cartoonists Rights Network.
In 2007, Kallaugher launched a Maryland-based animation company, Kaltoons, LLC. He teamed up with Chicago's famous "Second City" comedy troupe for a six-city touring show called "The Art of Satire." He employed "real-time" interactive animated satire for the shows including live press conferences and dance competitions with his 3-D caricatures.
