The New Canaan Republican Town Committee will hold its caucus on Tuesday, June 21 to endorse candidates for November's election. Petitioning candidates for the 13 available offices must turn in their signed petitions by June 16, according to the committee.

Up for election on Nov. 3 in New Canaan will be the two-year terms of office for first selectman, selectman, town clerk, town treasurer, and two seats on the Board of Assessment Appeals. Offices with four-year terms on the ballot are four seats on the Town Council and three seats on the Board of Education.

Those interested in endorsement by the RTC for the positions must be New Canaan residents and registered Republicans. Persons seeking to be endorsed at the Caucus shall submit a petition signed by at least 25 registered New Canaan Republicans and hand deliver it to Claudia Webber, Town Clerk, at the New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St., by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.

Petition forms may be obtained by prospective candidates beginning May 26 by submitting an email request to with name, address, daytime and evening telephone number(s) and the elected position sought. Any questions about the petition process should be addressed to the same email.
