NEW CANAAN — Police said a man went to the police station to discuss his involvement in an incident with a female jogger at Waveny Park.

On Oct. 31 around 5:40 p.m., the jogger told police she was approached by a white man who tapped her on her shoulder and made alarming, inappropriate remarks.

At the police station on Nov. 2, the man admitted his involvement in the incident, providing specific details confirming he was in fact the person police were seeking.

“This investigation is still ongoing in terms of determining appropriate charges and completing the appropriate paperwork to make an arrest,” said Lt. Jason Ferraro in a written statement. “However at this time we feel this was an isolated incident and that the person responsible has been identified.”

The New Canaan police spokesman said once an arrest is made, further information about the man will be released.; @erin_kayata
