Police charge New Canaan teen for drinking party
NEW CANAAN — Police charged a New Canaan 16-year-old after breaking up a drinking party of about 30 teens.
On Jan. 13 around 9 p.m., police responded to North Wilton Road on an anonymous tip about a house party. When police arrived, 20 to 30 teens ran from one of the homes. Inside, police found empty bottles of alcohol. The home also smelled strongly of marijuana.
Police charged a 16-year-old teen with allowing minors to possess alcohol and failing to halt possession of alcohol by a minor. No further information will be released about the case because it involves a juvenile, police said.
