Andres Bastillo, 29, of Bartlett Manor, Norwalk, was charged with possession of more than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro.
Police observed Bastillo’s vehicle driving on Park Street with a broken windshield, and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Street near Green Avenue, according to Ferraro. The officer detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, Ferraro said.
A search of the vehicle found a zip-lock bag containing .81 ounces of marijuana, and a digital scale, according to Ferraro.
He was released on $250 bond, and is to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on Thursday, Sept. 10.
Bike, wallet stolen
A Canoe Hill Road woman reported the theft of her wallet and bicycle on Aug. 24, and that fraudulent charges were made on her credit cards, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Jason Ferraro.
She said she was not sure when or where she lost the wallet, or if it might be connected to the disappearance of the bike, according to Ferraro.
