Police: New Canaan woman drove drunk, nearly hit pole
NEW CANAAN — A 56-year-old New Canaan woman was charged after allegedly driving drunk down New Norwalk Road.
Police said an officer saw Sheryl Moroch, of Millport Avenue, swerve down New Norwalk Road and almost hit a utility pole. The officer stopped Moroch and, upon speaking with her, smelled alcohol coming from her breath and car.
Moroch failed a field sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence and released on a promise to appear in court Jan. 26. Her blood alcohol content at the time of arrest was not available.
