NEW CANAAN — A 30-year-old Norwalk man was charged with larceny after police say he removed his van from a service station without paying his towing fee.
On Sept. 22 around 1 p.m., Robert Lenkowksi, of Devils Garden Road, arrived at the Gulf Service Station on South Avenue where his vehicle had been taken after being towed. Lenkowkski told employees at the service station he would return in two hours to pay $254 in towing fees. Shortly afterwards, he took the van from the station without paying.
Employees at the station called New Canaan Police who reached out to the Norwalk Police Department. Norwalk Police located Lenkowski and took him into custody for New Canaan police. Lenkowski was issued a misdemeanor summons for sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court Oct. 6.
