NEW CANAAN — A 55-year-old Cheshire woman was charged after allegedly walking away from her car after she crashed it into a median.
On Jan. 13 around 10:35 p.m., police responded to the area of Canoe Hill and Laurel roads on a report a car struck a concrete median before going off the road and hitting a stone wall and several trees. Police could not locate anyone who’d been in the car, but a witness told police they saw a man and woman, seemingly uninjured, walking away from the scene of the crash.
Following an accident investigation, police issued a warrant for Laura Zullo, of Bluefield Court, as she is the registered owner of the car involved. Police said they were not able to determine who was driving the car, but as the registered owner, Zullo is considered responsible for the accident.
On Jan. 31, Zullo turned herself in to New Canaan Police and was charged with evading responsibility. She posted a $5,000 bond and will appear in court Feb. 13.
