Richard Osborn, his two sisters Amanda Osborn and Mary Hagan, his wife Loralei and daughter Alina donated the sculpture, "Embrace," to Waveny Care Network. The piece is now prominently displayed in the front lobby of the Care Center.
"My mom would be so happy to know that her work resides at Waveny alongside Harry Caesar's renowned sculptures, as he was the man who introduced her to the world of sculpture in the first place," Richard Osborn said.
"Waveny is deeply grateful to have received such a spectacular gesture of respect and adoration," Heather Neff, Waveny chief executive officer, said. "We want to thank the Osborn family for the magnificent donation from Ada. Her gift is a touching tribute to the care we provide and a testament to her belief in our mission to provide a comprehensive continuum of care to those we serve."
Ada Osborn, a longtime resident of New Canaan, was involved with Waveny Care Network for years. Her involvement and leadership included dedicated service on the Development Committee, fundraising events, donor recognition planning committee, and the Sculpture Show in 2002. She was an avid traveler, art enthusiast and accomplished sculptress. She joined the New Canaan Sculpture Group in 1994 and was a member of the Society of Connecticut Sculptors. She has sculptures in several private collections.
"We are honored to have been entrusted with this timeless and everlasting reflection of Ada. Her spirit endures throughout our organization -- both through her dedicated service and this touching tribute of love," said Neff.
Waveny Care Network provides a comprehensive continuum of healthcare to serve the growing needs of older adults from all areas.
