News Briefs... Public hearing on code of ethics, NAMI support groups

NEW CANAAN — The Town Council and the Ethics Board will host a joint public hearing on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room to review and to hear comment on the proposed Code of Ethics, which includes operating rules, regulations and procedures.
NEW CANAAN — The National Alliance on Mental Illness offers monthly support groups for family members of those facing mental health challenges.
A New Canaan group meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Silver Hill Hospital, East Campus, Jurgenson Building, 208 Valley Road.
Area residents are welcome to attend. The group is led by trained facilitators. Discussions are confidential.

NEW CANAAN — While the supply lasts, New Canaan Health and Human Services is offering seasonal flu vaccine on a walk-in or appointment basis at Vine Cottage, 61 Main St. (yellow house next to Town Hall).
Walk-in hours are Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Call 203-594-3076 to make an appointment. The following vaccine is available while the supply lasts: Quadrivalent Seasonal Flu Vaccine (preservative-free and given to age 9 and older.) High Dose Fluzone available for age 65 and older.
Cost is $30, cash or check, or Medicare will be billed at the allowable rate.
