New York woman involved in hit and run turns herself in
A New York woman allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident with an 82-year-old bicyclist turned herself in Tuesday evening after learning of a warrant for her arrest.
Charges stem from a May 21 incident that took place on Oenoke Ridge Road. According to police, McDonald was driving a 2006 Audi A4 convertible when she struck the man, knocking him off his bike, and then fled the scene.
The victim was wearing a helmet, but was hospitalized with severe head, internal and leg injuries following the accident.
McDonald was charged with evading responsibility with serious injury.
McDonald most likely found out about the arrest warrant when she received a letter from the police, Condos said.
McDonald posted a $5,000 bond, and she is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 17.
