Today should be sunny and warm in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service, but it warns strong storms may in the offing tomorrow.

Under sunny skies today, the daytime high temperature should rise to the mid-80s, the NWS says, with a north wind 5 to 8 mph becoming west.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 69 degrees.

Tomorrow, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. as clouds move in. Some of those storms could be severe, the NWS warns, with downpours and gusty winds. The high temperature should be about 81 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms remain possible overnight as the temperature dips to a low around 70 degrees.

The Friday forecast also predicts a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Unsettled conditions prevail Friday night, with a low temperature about 66 degrees.
