NEW CANAAN — Police charged a 19-year-old New Canaan man with violation of a protective order on Sunday when they were called to the Talmadge Hill train station parking lot on a report of a woman in distress.
Just after 4 p.m. Sept. 3, New Canaan police were notified by Darien police — who had received a call from a witness — of the woman yelling in a vehicle parked at the train station near the border of the two towns, according to police.
Police responded to the area and found James Patrick Fahey, of Hillcrest Road, and the female victim. According to the police report, it did not appear the woman was in immediate distress.
A computer check of Fahey determined that a protective order was in place prohibiting contact between Fahey and the victim. Fahey was taken into custody and posted a $20,000 bond. He is due in court Sept. 15.
