New Canaan sixth grade Black football lost to Darien White Sunday 14-6 in competitive game in Darien.

New Canaan scored first, moving the ball well on its opening possession behind the blocking of Harrison Kazlauskas, Sam Parmelee, Charlie Hane, Nicholas LaMorte and Will Ostrand. J.D. Sparks had two runs over 10 yards, and Jay Parmelee capped the drive with a 46-yard touchdown run and a 6-0 lead.

Darien answered with a long run to get into the New Canaan red zone, but the New Canaan defense held tough with great play from Owen Shin, Thomas Russo, Nick Potter and Sean Knight.

Darien scored a touchdown to take a 7-6 halftime lead.

Both defenses held tough in the third quarter, and Michael Tuffy added and interception for New Canaan.

Darien busted a big play to score in the fourth quarter, and the Rams mounted two furious drives into Darien territory to try to even the game, but both drives ended with turnovers.
