New Canaan man charged with assault after allegedly striking brother-in-law

Kevin Leville, 55, of Nubel Lane, was charged with third-degree assault at 7:10 p.m. on Feb. 10 during an argument with his brother-in-law.
Earlier that day, Leville went to Danbury at 2 a.m. to bail his brother-in-law out of jail for a domestic violence offense involving the brother-in-law's girlfriend. Leville also took custody of his brother-in-law's 3-year-old daughter.
Later that evening in New Canaan, Leville got into an argument with his brother-in-law about the bail money. Police said his brother-in-law was intoxicated but Leville struck him causing minor injury.

Leville posted a $150 bond and appeared in court Feb. 14.
