James S. Langseder, 23, of 1587 Oenoke Ridge, charged Aug. 26 with operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, defective marker lights and failure to carry a license.

An officer doing selective enforcement on Cherry Street near South Avenue observed a car traveling east on Cherry Street with his marker lights out, according to police.

The officer stopped the car near Vitti Street and as he approached the driver, Langseder, he noticed an odor of alcohol, police said. The operator, who did not have his learner's permit with him, also had glassy eyes and was speaking slowly, according to the report. Langseder failed field sobriety tests, police said.

He posted $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 8.
