New Canaan man arrested for DUI after hitting a tree
NEW CANAAN — Police arrested a New Canaan man for drunk driving after his car hit a tree during an August car accident.
On Aug. 8 around 9:38 p.m., police responded to the area of Main Street near Park Street on a report of a single car striking a tree while traveling northbound on Main Street. Following an investigation and search warrant, police determined that the operator, Kevin Ancker of Prospect Place, had a blood alcohol content of .18 at the time of the accident.
Police issued a warrant for Ancker, 39, on charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive right, failure to wear a seatbelt and using a handheld mobile device while driving. On Oct. 18 around 3 p.m., Ancker turned himself into police on the warrant. Ancker was processed, posted a $2,500 bond and was given a court date of Nov. 1.
