Broadway actors and other performers, including children from New Canaan, will sing all day long on Sunday, May 5, in Times Square to better the lives of children with special needs.

The New Canaan-based nonprofit foundation, Magical Music for Life, will be presenting its second annual "Tunes in Times Square" benefit concert from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Broadway Pedestrian Plaza between 46th & 47th Streets, New York City. This will be a continuous sing-a-thon, with members of the Broadway community, children and groups from the tri-state area, and the Magical Music singing companies taking turns on the stage.

The goal of the concert is to raise awareness and funds for the production of more free, downloadable original songs written especially for children with autism and special needs and to continue the outreach efforts of Magical Music.

Many New Canaan young performers will be singing solos and with groups, raising donations through pledges to help with the fundraiser. In addition to singers from Magical Music, there will be students from the Studio of Performing Arts, Broadway Workshop, Greenwich Academy, and Lighthouse Youth Theater. New Canaan Dance Academy students will participate in a special performance with some of the cast of Broadway's "FELA!"

New Canaan's own Broadway actors, Sadie Seelert (Mary Poppins) and Ashton Woerz (Pippin & Priscilla Queen of the Desert), will be on stage. Some of the other Broadway actors who will be Aiden Gemme (Mary Poppins), Sadie Seelert (Mary Poppins), Brianna Gentilella (How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Alison Horowitz (Sunday in the Park with George & Mary Poppins), Corey Mach (Hands on a Hardbody & Godspell), Jenny Mollet (The Color Purple), James Moye (Million Dollar Quartet), Jed Resnik (Avenue Q), J.
