The New Canaan girls hockey team (19-1) extended its winning streak to 11 games after picking up a pair of one goal wins over Ridgefield and Hall/Conrad.

Last Friday, the Rams defeated the Ridgefield Tigers by a 5-4 margin. Olivia Hompe notched a hat trick while also adding two assists, Jana Persky notched two goals and three assists, and Bea Eppler chipped in with a pair of assists. Goalie Britt Gardella notched 17 saves.

On Saturday, Hompe tied a school record by scoring six goals in a 6-5 overtime win over Hall/Conrad. Hompe tied the game with just 34 seconds left, and then won it with a shorthanded goal in overtime after taking in a pass from Persky. Gardella came up with 19 saves.

New Canaan has earned the top seed in the FCIAC playoffs and will face off against No. 4 seed Ridgefield at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Darien Ice Rink.
