New Canaan forecast: Temps colder, winds calmer

The cold front that powered into southwestern Connecticut yesterday with plunging temperatures and blustery winds, promises clear and cold weather today -- and it will be even colder tomorrow.
The daytime high temperature will reach the mid-30s today, according to the National Weather Service, with a west wind between 13 and 17 mph.
Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 16 degrees and a north wind between 9 and 11 mph.
Tomorrow promises sunny skies, the NWS says, be the high temperature will be only in the upper-20s. There will be a north wind between 9 and 15 mph. Tomorrow night will be mostly clear, with a low around 15 degrees.
On Monday -- the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday -- the forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions, with a high in the upper-30s. There is a chance of rain Monday night as clouds move in and the temperature falls to the low-30s.
Tuesday, the weather service predicts, showers are likely but the temperature will rise to a high in the upper-40s.
