New Canaan forecast: No holiday from possible storms
The post-holiday work week starts with another unsettled forecast for southwestern Connecticut as scattered showers -- possibly, thunderstorms -- are possible this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Skies should be partly sunny, the NWS says, while the greatest likelihood of precipitation is expected after 3 p.m. The temperature is expected to rise to a daytime high in the mid-60s, with a light wind becoming south between 10 and 13 mph.
Tonight, showers and thunderstorms are expected, and the NWS warns that some of the storms could trigger gusty winds. The overnight temperature is expected to dip to the mid-60s.
Tomorrow there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, although skies otherwise will be partly sunny and the temperature will rise to about 80 degrees. There remains a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow night before 8 p.m. and the temperature will register in the low-60s.
On Thursday, skies will be sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-70s. It will be clear Thursday night with a low temperature in the mid-50s.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny and temperatures reaching about 70 degrees.
