New Canaan forecast: More storms possible
In the wake of brief, but strong, thunderstorms that raked southwestern Connecticut last night, there's a chance of more of the same later today, according to the National Weather Service -- and both days of the weekend also could be storm-tossed.
Like yesterday, the NWS warns that storms today could produce downpours, lightning strikes and strong winds.
Otherwise, today is expected to be partly sunny, with a daytime high temperature in the upper-80s and a west wind around 6 mph.
Tonight, there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms as the temperature dips to the low-70s.
Tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms remain possible under cloudy skies and high temperatures in the low-80s. There could be more unsettled weather tomorrow night as temperatures decline to a low in the low-60s, the NWS says.
On Sunday, there is still a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, the day is expected to be mostly sunny and the high temperature will be in the low-80s. Storms are possible Sunday night and temperatures will be in the mid-60s.
The outlook for Monday, the weather service says, is mostly sunny and temperatures cresting at about 80 degrees.
