New Canaan forecast: Fog lifts, temps rise
After morning fog clears from southwestern Connecticut, the rest of today is expected to be mostly sunny, according to the National Weather Service.
The daytime high temperature should rise to nearly 80 degrees, the NWS says, with a light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 8 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 60 degrees and a southwest wind around 6 mph.
Tomorrow there is a slight chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m. Otherwise, skies should be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-70s. Chance of precipitation is about 30 percent. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-40s.
On Sunday, rain is likely, mainly after noon, as skies turn cloudy and the high temperature rises only to the upper-50s. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Nighttime also brings possible precipitation as the temperature dips to the mid-40s. Chance of precipitation is about 50 percent.
Monday -- observed as Columbus Day -- will be sunny with temperatures in the upper-50s, according to the weather service.
