New Canaan forecast: Cloudy weekend, stormy outlook
The weekend forecast predicts overcast skies will prevail most of today and tomorrow across southwestern Connecticut.
But no precipitation is expected -- unlike a storm that could potentially bring "heavy precipitation and strong winds" to the region from Wednesday into Thursday, according to a National Weather Service warning.
Today's daytime high temperature will rise to the low-40s today, the weather service says, with a northwest wind 8 to 13 mph.
Tonight also will be cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-20s and a northwest wind around 8 mph.
Tomorrow also is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the low-40s. Clouds are likely tomorrow night as the temperature dips to the mid-20s.
On Monday, however, skies are expected to partially clear and temperature are likely to rise to the low-40s. Nighttime will be partly cloud with a low temperature about 30 degrees, the NWS says.
Tuesday should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. Clouds will move in at night and the temperature will dip to a low of about 30 degrees.
The outlook for Wednesday is potentially stormy, the weather service warns in a "hazardous weather outlook," with strong precipitation -- both snow and rain -- possible and temperatures in the 30s.
