New Canaan forecast: Cloudy day, rain on the horizon

After a weekend of beautiful late-summer weather, southwestern Connecticut could be in for an unsettled patch.
Today is expected to be partly sunny, with a 30 percent chance to scattered showers after noon, as the temperature rises to a high in the low-80s.
Tonight, the odds of precipitation increase slightly to 40 percent as the temperature dips to a low in the upper-60s.
Tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms are likely, with 70 percent odds of precipitation, as the temperature rises to the upper-70s. Nighttime chance of precipitation eases to 50 percent with a low temperature about 60 degrees.
By Wednesday, however, things clear up and skies will be sunny with a high temperature in the upper-70s. Night skies remain clear as the temperature dips to a low in the upper-50s.
Thursday is expected to continue the cycle of pleasant weather, with sunny skies and temperatures rising to the upper-70s. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature around 60 degrees.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 70s.
