Weather this weekend in southwestern Connecticut promises to be an autumnal showcase: sunny and relatively warm.

This first day of fall's first full weekend sets the pleasant pattern that the National Weather Service predicts will carry through into next week.

Skies will be sunny today with a high temperature in the low-70s and an east wind 6 to 9 mph.

Tonight also will be clear with a low temperature of about 50 degrees and an east wind 3 to 5 mph.

Tomorrow also will be sunny, the NWS says, with a daytime high temperature in the low-70s. Night skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 50 degrees.

Monday should be mostly sunny with the daytime high temperature rising to a high of about 70 degrees. Nighttime skies will be partly cloudy, with the temperature dipping to a low in the low-50s.

Tuesday again promises sunny skies with a high temperature in the mid-70s. Skies Tuesday night will be clear and the temperature will dip to a low in the mid-50s.

The outlook for Wednesday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 70s.
