New Canaan forecast: A dark & stormy night
Skies are expected to be mostly cloudy today across southwestern Connecticut, and storms are likely to cap off the unpleasant forecast tonight.
In a reversal of the pleasant summer weather of the last several days, clouds will prevail most of today as temperatures rise to a high in the upper-70s and there is a 30 percent chance of scattered showers, mainly after 2 p.m.
Tonight, however, the odds of rain and thunderstorms rise to 80 percent, the NWS says, as the temperature dips to a low in the mid-60s.
Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-80s. Night skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-60s.
On Saturday, there is a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-80s. There remains a 30 percent chance of precipitation Saturday night, as skies turn cloudy and the temperature registers a low in the mid-60s.
Sunday should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-80s. Nighttime also should be clear with a low temperature of about 60 degrees.
The outlook for Monday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures about 80 degrees.
